A Cold Grey Day
It's unusually cold and grey today here in New Mexico. All my life growing up in Indiana, I just wanted sunny warm days. Living in New Mexico has given me the sun I crave but every-so-often we get some grey days and I enjoy them, especially if I'm in the studio painting. It's like I'm able to find my true self at those times. I'm insulated by the heavy sky, protected from expectations, places to go, people to please. Covid 19 has actually made it easier for me to make art. My studio is my all day workspace for teaching and for painting. So far, it's been good.
Today I'm working on finishing my donation painting of the Gorge in Northern New Mexico for the Harwood Art Center
I'm also starting a "Winter on The Sandia Mountains" series.
